Nom Nom: d.k. Happy Hour

 It is quite possible that I have stumbled upon the best happy hour that Hawaii has to offer.  I absolutley love d.k.'s because they have theeee greatest cut of beef (only steakhouse on the island that offers authentic in-house dry aged beef!) but since I can't always afford to ballah out I have to find a way to please my stomach and my wallet.  With $5 appetizers and drink specials, d.k. hits the bulls-eye.

Inspo: Embellished Collars

I am and always have been a huge fan of embellishments. Studs, rhinestones, sequins, fringe, lace, anything. Ever heard of that saying "less is more?" Well to me, "the more the better!" I just can't get enough of this newest trend-studded collars. They are showing up everywhere!!!

Rather than wearing chunky necklaces, have the embellishments directly on the article of clothing! Looooove it!

Project: Milk Carton Boxes!

Ever wondered what you should do with your old milk cartons?  

Well, here is a fun and easy project for you milk drinkers. (or juice drinkers)

all you need is :

• 1 Milk Carton
• Mod Podge /// PVA Glue
• Mulberry or Washi Paper
• Heavy Cardboard (for the lid)
• Beads and Cording  /// Flowers or rhinestones (for the lids)
• Wooden feet

Mod podge, flowers, and Starbucks glue cups!

Nom Nom: Lucky Belly

One of the benefits of working in Downtown Honolulu is all the great places to eat for lunch! My brother discovered this new eatery that took the place of the old Mini Garden..just a few doors down from Little Village. Even before it's grand opening, this place was packed! And it had great reason to be.

How cute is their logo!



Opened by one of the former cooks from Alan Wong's, Lucky Belly's menu is concise of Asian fusion items.

Here's what we had to eat!



Bao Pork Belly. The sauce is amazing.

Nom Nom: Kimukatsu!

Yay for date night! At the suggestion of one of our friends, we decided to venture into Waikiki and try out this cute little restaurant! On Lewers Street, after Moose Mcgillycuddy's and before Genius Lounge, this hidden gem is definitely a treat for your tastebuds!

rice set with miso soup (super good) and tsukemono. the rice is cooked right after receiving your order, so it is hot and fresh! 



the speciality! tonkatsu! we tried the original and cheese. make sure you use the dipping sauces-especially the garlic butter one!



lightly breaded, and layers of pork instead of one big chunk. so YUMMO!

Project: Father's Day Gift!

Shopping for my dad is always difficult. So when father's day was right around the corner, I had no idea what to get him. My sister and I decided to glitter bomb some of his favorite alcoholic beverages and make it spectacular! How could he resist!

With a little glue and glitter, you can make something ordinary...extraordinary!!!
