Yay for date night! At the suggestion of one of our friends, we decided to venture into Waikiki and try out this cute little restaurant! On Lewers Street, after Moose Mcgillycuddy's and before Genius Lounge, this hidden gem is definitely a treat for your tastebuds!

Project: Father's Day Gift!

Shopping for my dad is always difficult. So when father's day was right around the corner, I had no idea what to get him. My sister and I decided to glitter bomb some of his favorite alcoholic beverages and make it spectacular! How could he resist!

With a little glue and glitter, you can make something ordinary...extraordinary!!!

just added a few new colors to the lehdoit glitter collection.

bottles about to have their lives changed.

BOMBED!!!!

oh we made daddy proud.

Nom Nom: Salt Kitchen + Tasting Bar

I've been dying to go to this restaurant in Kaimuki ever since they've opened last year. The brainchild of the owner of 12th Ave Grill, Salt is the place to go for drinks and pupu style eating. Portions are kept on the smaller side to let you try more dishes-and to complement your cocktails.

My friend Jammy Jams and I decided to try it out on a Friday night-best to call and make reservations before hand because there is VERY limited seating.

The best way to start off the night.
Crispy fingerling potatoes with house aioli.
Grilled Madagascar Prawns with Bacon Jam...the Jam is AWESOME!!!!!
Mixed Grill-sausage, ali'i mushroom, maui onions, chimichurri, maui ribeye, shinsato pork loin, smoked beef tongue.
Brown Butter Gnocchi

Nom Nom: Tokkuri-tei!

We couldn't have just one wolfpack outing, so of course we had to squeeze in one more celebratory meal with our favorite West Coast goofball before his departure. After much debate, we decided to go to Tokkuri-tei and try everything our hearts desired.

Hamachi Truffle
Spicy Tuna Chips, I could eat bazillions of these... soo yummy!
Aspara Buta Bata.  Can't go wrong with anything sautéed in butter!
Spider Poke.  Signature dish

Dragon Roll
Zaru Udon with Quail Egg!

Kurobuta Sausage. Black sausage is always the best.
Enoki and Shimeji Maki.  Can't go wrong when it's wrapped in pork!

Okra Bata.  Not usually a fan of Okra, but this dish was yummms.
Shiso Maki.

Tonkatsu

Sake Dynamite.  An explosion of enoki mushrooms, avocado, tobiko and dynamite sauce!
and for dessert...sakura mochi
now that's what i call a pitcher!
and to top it off, hot sake.

Travellin': Heading North (and West)

Working plenty of overtime was frying my brain, and I definitely needed a break. So I decided to take the day off and play tourist!

First up: Giovanni's Shrimp Truck in Haleiwa
Don't mind the graffiti covered van: they're cooking heaven inside!
The original and best! Shrimp Scampi. With a can of Passion Orange to hit da spot!

If you're lucky like me, you'll bring along someone to shell all the shrimp for you! :)

Next up: Dole Plantation
Home of the World's Largest Maze.
(But it was too darn hot to conquer that, so I'll save it for another day)

Many different types of pineapple species in the garden.
The green pond.
Filled with koi! For 25 cents you can feed them. And boy do they look hungry!
There are also many photo-op stations, as you can see I am taking full advantage of it!

The train! For $8 you get to ride the train and hear all about the plantation's history.

And ended the day out west at Brick Oven Pizza!

BBQ Wings
Chef Salad with Chicken
The UltiMEAT Pizza. With italian sausage, portuguese sausage, smoked ham, pepperoni, lean beef, salami and bacon!
