Nom Nom: Nobu Waikiki

Hooray for the New Year! and Hooray for another Birthday celebration!

I was very lucky to get to try Nobu Waikiki for my birthday, and even though the weather was cold, windy, and rainy all week, this definitely made me a very happy camper. 

Service was awesome, and the ambiance was very chic. 

Lanterns hanging all around the restaurant. Kind of a Moroccan theme.

King Crab tempura...delicious. Make sure you mix it with the sauce.

Japanese eggplant and tofu tempura.

Shrimp tempura sushi.

Roasted spring vegetables.

And my favorite of the night...Ribeye steak with three sauces. The balsamic teriyaki was ONO!

For dessert, the bento box. Chocolate flourless cake with green tea ice cream. Did not want to share this. Haha.

Nom Nom: d.k. Happy Hour

 It is quite possible that I have stumbled upon the best happy hour that Hawaii has to offer.  I absolutley love d.k.'s because they have theeee greatest cut of beef (only steakhouse on the island that offers authentic in-house dry aged beef!) but since I can't always afford to ballah out I have to find a way to please my stomach and my wallet.  With $5 appetizers and drink specials, d.k. hits the bulls-eye.

My new favorite drink! Otokoyama, Iichiko, and Umeshu with slices of cucumber!

We were quite full after all the delicious food and drinks, but all I kept thinking about was how I wanted to come back the next day for more!  I held back, but I will be back again soon.

Nom Nom: Kimukatsu!

Yay for date night! At the suggestion of one of our friends, we decided to venture into Waikiki and try out this cute little restaurant! On Lewers Street, after Moose Mcgillycuddy's and before Genius Lounge, this hidden gem is definitely a treat for your tastebuds!

rice set with miso soup (super good) and tsukemono. the rice is cooked right after receiving your order, so it is hot and fresh! 



the speciality! tonkatsu! we tried the original and cheese. make sure you use the dipping sauces-especially the garlic butter one!



lightly breaded, and layers of pork instead of one big chunk. so YUMMO!
