lala's current cravings for May:

BGC. Billionaire Girls Club. I cannot wait for more products to come out!

Miu Miu shoes at Nordstrom? The shoe department just got about 1000x better!

Lay's BLT potato chips. Can't eat just one!

YSL Golden Gloss Shimmering Lip Gloss. Put some on and instantly feel like a million bucks. Well almost, since there are 24 karat gold flecks in it!

Project: GLITTER BOMB!!

Ahhh, nothing makes us happier than glitter... so we had the greatest idea ever.  Why not GLITTER BOMB everything and anything we could get our hands on.  If everyone had a little more glitter in their life, the world would be a better place.

Before: Shoes, Mod Podge, and GLITTAH!
 Middle: Only bottom glitter
 Finished: GLITTER BOMBED!!!
Caught in the act of glitter bombing!
Getting the fingers dirty with GLITTER!

 Before: Sake Boxes
 BOMBED! GLITTER!!
 Lighter Bombed.
not enough glitter bombing in one night, but it was time to call it a day.

xoxo.

nom nom: morimoto's

It was a double celebration on a lovely Saturday evening, and by double, I mean a graduation and birthday...all for one very special person!!!
My friends and I decided to take out the very deserving birthday-soon-to-be-graduate to a nice dinner, and what better place than Morimoto's!
I was beyond excited not only to eat at this fabulous restaurant by the world renowned Iron Chef, but to also hang out with some of my oldest friends.

Here's to an excellent night of fun!

welcome to Morimoto's! so chic and modern.
Tofu made tableside. Some of the BEST tofu I have eaten. Highly recommended.
Calamari Salad. That's the calamari hiding under all that lettuce. YUMMO.
Morimoto style takoyaki. With some huge pieces of abalone inside.
Shrimp Tempura Maki. Eh, nothing extraordinary if you ask me.
Misoyaki Butterfish. Oh this was deeeelish.
Crispy Mediterranean Sea Bass. It looks pretty disgusting having your food stare back at you, but it was pretty good.
Loco Moto with Wagyu Beef. Look at the size of this thing!!!
Seafood Bouillabaisse in a spicy miso sauce. I spy lobster!
The chosen dessert of the night. Salted Peanut Butter something or other with gold flakes. Salted Peanut Butter ice cream was an unusual but interesting treat.
Yes, we are so proud of this lovely thing. :)

Insider: My Make-up Bag

I tend to keep things minimal when it comes to my make-up.  I'm a five step girl. Foundation, brows, blush, mascara and lip shine. (okay, six since I live in Hawaii and it's always sunny.  Can't forget that SPF!)

1. MAC : Studio Fix Powder + Foundation
2. MAC: Powder Blush
3. Benefit: Brows-a-go-go
4. Shu Uemura: Eye Lash Curler
5. C.O. Bigelow: Lip Shine
6. Anastasia: Brow Duality
7. Neutrogena: SPF 70
8. Maybelline: Voluminous Million Lashes
9. Hempz: Herbal Moisturizer

I'm not a huge expert in the make-up department, but I do LOVE the products that I use.  Shu Uemura's eyelash curler is a life changer.  Anastasia has amazing brow products, last time I went to get my eye brows waxed (at Nordstrom, she's also life changing) I got sucked into purchasing $75 worth of eye brow goodies.  C.O. Bigelow has fantastic lip balm; minty, soothing, and glossssy!  MAC provides great coverage, quick and easy.  Not pictured: my bottle of Hempz moisturizer... Hempz is just amaaaazing.

xoxo.

Insider: my make up bag

inside Lala's makeup bag

Kelli and I thought it would be a cool segment to feature items that we use everyday but never really showcase. From time to time, we'll take a peek into our personal stashes and show our lovely Lehdoit readers what we love to use and have.

First off, our make up bags.

I'm not the best person to ask about what's the greatest beauty products out there. I'm pretty clueless in this department and usually skim over the beauty and hair sections in my fashion magazines. It just doesn't get me as excited as shoes and clothes do. I used to just use whatever my mom suggested until my dermatologist said that certain brands were making me break out more.
So luckily, I stumbled upon Chanel and am sold. :)

1. Michael Kors for Estee Lauder make up bag
2. Toki Doki kabuki and blush brush
3. Dior primer and blackout mascara
4. Chanel eyelash curler
5. Sephora powder brush
6. Chanel blush in Orchid Rose
7. Mac eye shadow
8. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua creme
9. Burt's Bees lip balm
10. Shu Uemura liquid eye liner
11. Clinique bronzer
12. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy
13. Noevir Moisturizer
14. Chanel natural powder compact
15. Chanel eye creme

and voila!

project: glass bar necklace

Sometimes amazing things can happen when you least expect it. One night I was killing time in Waikele and decided to pop into Lowe's since it was the only store open. Going up and down every aisle just to let the time tick away, I came upon the tile section. And so began my next project.

I stared at all these amazing glass tiles in tons of colors: blue, green, beige, clear, black, smoky gray. And not wanting to tackle redo-ing my bathroom or kitchen backsplash, I decided to incorporate the glass into jewelry.

What started out as a sheet of glass tiles turned into something I absolutely adore.
